About Ankle Tendonitis
Ankle tendonitis occurs when the connective tissues of the ankle become inflamed. Tendons connect the muscles of the leg and foot to the ankle bones. The tendons of the ankle consist of the peroneals, anterior tibialis, and Achilles tendon. These tissues can become inflamed and cause pain.
Symptoms
- Tenderness and pain directly over the joint.
- Radiating pain down the leg.
- A burning sensation.
- Weakness of the affected area.
- Loss in range of motion.
