Sheref E. Hassan, MD treats acute and chronic orthopedic conditions and specializes in sports medicine and minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree Magnum Cum Laude in Biology from Columbia University. He completed the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship Program at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
His specialty training included medical and orthopedic team coverage for the Baltimore Ravens in the National Football League, the Washington Nationals in Major League Baseball, the Baltimore Blast in the Major Indoor Soccer League, and many collegiate sports teams.
Dr. Hassan’s clinical interests are the surgical and non-surgical treatment of orthopedic conditions. These are injuries that include but are not limited to general orthopedics, minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, sports injuries, ACL tears, meniscus tears, rotator cuff tears, elbow ligament injuries, cartilage injuries, tendon tears, injections, regenerative medicine, and other joint complaints.
Dr. Hassan is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
