Thoracic Radiculopathy

About

“Radiculopathy” is a way to describe a chronic condition that injures the spinal nerves by compression or irritation. Movement can produce stress in these areas of the spine, and the most significant degeneration of the spine occurs at these locations.

 

Symptoms

  • Pain.
  • Impaired normal reflexes in the upper extremity.
  • Numbness or tingling from the neck to the hand.
  • Pain in the neck or radicular to the shoulder blade or arm.
  • Pain and tenderness.
  • Muscle spasms or changes in posture.
  • Loss of motion.
  • Poor tolerance for sitting.

 

Treatments

Treatment options for thoracic radiculopathy can fall into two categories, injections, and surgical procedures.
