About
During a Biceps Tenodesis procedure, your surgeon will use an arthroscope to see into the shoulder. The attachment of the biceps tendon to the labrum is cut, then re-attached to the humerus bone outside of the shoulder joint, thus removing the pressure from the labrum and/or biceps tendon.
What It Treats
Arthroscopic Biceps Tenodesis is done to treat bicep tendonitis, a tear in the tendon that connects your bicep to your shoulder, or a SLAP tear that involves the bicep tendon.
