Endoscopic Lumbar Discectomy

This minimally invasive surgery is used for patients with back and lower extremity pain due to a piece of herniated disc that is pressing on a nerve. A small metal tube is inserted, allowing direct visualization of the spine. Tiny instruments including graspers and laser can be used to remove the herniated disc material. The surgery is done with a tiny incision that can be closed with one or two absorbable sutures, and patients walk out of a surgery center shortly after the procedure.

Benefits:

  • Small incision
  • Faster recovery
  • Less risk
  • Same day surgery
